Over 100 children from Targovishte participated in a lesson in Forest Pedagogics
Over 100 children from Targovishte participated in a lesson in Forest Pedagogics organized by experts from the Northeastern State Enterprise. Kids from the third and fourth grades in kindergartens „Veselushko“, „Slance“, „Prikazka“ and „Snezhanka“ took part in the activities.
In the last years our town has evolved and the kindergartens evolved too. More and more teachers are applying innovative working approaches, developing environmental projects and the topic of nature and forest conservation is becoming leading for us, said Ivanka Atanasova-expert in preschool education in Targovishte Municipality, who participates in all four lessons with young students. In her opinion, forest pedagogy is one of the ways for children to understand from an early age what foresters do and how they protect forests and their inhabitants.
Children from other kindergartens in Targovishte are also expected to take part in the lessons of the pedagogues from the NSE next month. A new booklet under the project „Forests of the Northeast“ is to be published, through which the kids will understand why sometimes trees and animals brought from other countries might be harmful to our nature.
